How do I sign up for Bookshare?

Organizational Membership

This account type is for schools, school districts, or other organizations who wish to provide books to qualified students or members.

  1. On the Bookshare website, select the “Sign Up” button.
  2. Select the “Sign Up Organization” button.
  3. Complete all the required fields.
  4. Accept the terms of Sponsor agreement.
  5. Select the Organizational Agreement form link on your My Bookshare Page to download and print the document.
  6. Sign, scan and submit form for processing.

Individual Membership

This account type is for adults with qualifying disabilities or for parents to sign up their child with a qualifying disability.

  1. On the Bookshare Website select the “Sign Up” button.
  2. Select “Sign Up Individual” button.
  3. Complete all of the required fields. Note: parents please enter your child’s name.
  4. A welcome email will be sent to confirm your account submission.
  5. Submit your proof of disability.
  6. Activate your subscription. If member is not a student, pay membership fee.

Discounts or free memberships may be available through our domestic and international membership partners. Residents of World Bank designated low income economies are eligible for free memberships.
